Flash Animation Project
I wanted to ask these questions to my viewers
What do we know about our world, community, nature,
spirituality, ect?
What is unknown and known to us as a human race?
The idea I wanted to portray in my flash animation was the
human desire, and how it affects the world that we live in. I wanted to have my viewers look at how much
we really know. Our technological advances allow us to develop as a community
but we still don’t know a lot about our world. The human race in general do not
care about the world as much as we should. We take it for granted and think
that we are the only species on earth that matters or has any type of power. In
the end of my animation I zoom out and show outerspace. This shows the viewers
that we indeed are not the highest of powers and there is so much knowledge and
leaning that still has to be found out about the world we live in.
I dont really see the idea of human desire in here. I see more the idea of destruction and reconstruction. However, it does connect between the two because we have human desire and therefore that creates us to build up more on what want. That probably doesn't make sense at all. I think that it really shows that we are a part of a bigger world, the way it transitions to the solar system is a really good idea and portrayal of showing that we are more than we realize. 3 thumbs up!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Emily I saw more destruction and reconstruction than human desire. However, your animation was really nice. I especially liked the ending with the planets. 3.5 Tumbs
ReplyDeleteI really liked the city scenes and how you zoomed out into outer space!
ReplyDeleteIm not quite sure if I got the big idea though...after watching it, I was thinking more that the girl was traveling through the book. Almost as if reading can take us through different experiences or places.
Because the overall animation is a little vague, however, it leaves a lot of room for personal interpretation and I think that is interesting. Even if your specific question never came to my mind, it definitely made me think about the meaning!
I also thought it was interesting that the sun was the only object with color. It could symbolize many different things depending how one interprets the video as a whole.
Overall, Id give the animation a 3/4 because it was interesting to watch, but some of the drawings or transitions could have been smoothed out.
Nice job though! :)
I think that the idea of human desire is translated pretty well. I like how the animation starts small scale with the one individual and continuously looks at larger scale ideas such as natural resources being depleted, cities taking over the natural world. I appreciate the changes in perspective and size through out the animation. Your music aligns really well too. Nice job! 3.5 thumbs
ReplyDeleteAs far as the message goes, I can see maybe the desire for more knowledge since the girl goes for the book. However, I am not sure I can see the desire in the rest of the film. Maybe for specific things rather than in general. I do however get a strong feeling for the power struggle between nature and humans.
ReplyDeleteI also really enjoyed your music selection. It kept me interested in the animation and seemed to line up with your video well.
I say three thumbs up.
I enjoyed how your animation left room for exploration, and made me think more then others. Having heard your big idea, I think you accomplished your point well. I really liked your style as well as your use of shapes and negative space.
ReplyDeleteReba,
ReplyDeleteGood choice in music! I thought your big idea was expressed pretty well, but I couldn't tell at the beginning if she was reading about this or what was happening with the book. The transitions could have been smoothed out as well, but I really like the way it zooms out at the end - it made me feel insignificant.
Hi Reba, how are you today?
ReplyDeleteSo I'm late to this and I'm not sure if my two cents mean anything but here we go. Early on there was a bit of a problem with the sound effect blending. Or that could have been how that song starts, not really sure. If it's how the song starts then that's okay but if it's an odd blending issue than it seems a little much. The song, however, was perfect for the animation. An odd sound that helped move the piece along. I enjoy the concept of everything happens but even then everything is so small in the grand scheme. The opening is a bit sweating in defining what is going on but that's more of a visual thing than anything. I think the animation could have been a bit smoother with a little tweaking. That last scene was fantastic by the way. For a first animation it's pretty okay. I'd give it around 2.5/4 thumbs
